Hi, I'm Alin.
Cybersecurity engineer & researcher in applied cryptography, PKI, and the systems around them.
I am a cybersecurity engineer and researcher specialising in applied cryptography and public key infrastructure, currently working on verifiable fully homomorphic encryption at the IMDEA Software Institute in Madrid.
I like working at the boundary between research and engineering: taking cryptographic constructions that look good on paper and finding out what it actually takes to run them in real, constrained environments like satellites, hospitals, and banks.
What I have worked on
- Verifiable FHE at the IMDEA Software Institute: verifiable homomorphic encryption with succinct proofs.
- Space cryptography at the European Space Agency: ground-segment cryptographic services and post-quantum PKI for space missions.
- Privacy-preserving systems at TU Delft: blockchain-based medical data research and encrypted search.
- Backend & infrastructure engineering: instant payments at ING Bank, cloud and on-premises platforms as a DevOps engineer.
The details live on the research and projects pages; education and the full track record are in my CV.
